Pricing structure

Our prices are calculated per rental day and depend on several factors:

  • Rental length. The longer the rental, the higher the discount applied to the daily rate.
  • Pick-up and drop-off location. Although our head office is in Santiago, you can pick up or drop off the camper in other cities and regions for an additional cost.
  • Season. Rates vary with the time of year. High season runs from October to March and low season from April to September. The minimum rental is 7 days in low season and 15 days in high season.

Terms of payment

  • 30 % of the total amount when the booking is made.
  • Remaining 70 % no later than 45 days before the rental starts.

Cancellation policy

  • From the moment of booking until 46 days before the rental starts: the 30 % prepayment of the total price is retained.
  • Between 45 and 0 days before the rental starts: 100 % of the total rental price is charged.

Compulsory coverage

In addition to the daily rental rate, a compulsory insurance is charged per day, comprising the following coverage:

Collision and Theft (CDW): covers material damage to the vehicle and the camper caused by fire, collision, rollover or theft, with a deductible of 2,100 € per claim, regardless of whether the renter is responsible for the accident.

Third Party Liability (RC): covers material damage and bodily injuries caused to third parties as a consequence of a collision, with a maximum indemnity limit of 150,000 € per claim in Chile. In the neighbouring countries (Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay) the coverage is 30,000 € for material damage and 150,000 € for bodily injuries or death.

The insurance excludes: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drivers not included in the rental contract, driving outside authorised public roads (beaches, salt flats, mud or watercourses), damage to tyres, rims and windows that is not the consequence of a major accident, and mechanical damage caused by improper or negligent use of the vehicle or the camper. Nor does it cover the theft of parts, components or accessories of the vehicle or the camper. Injuries, personal damage or death of the driver and/or passengers are also excluded from coverage.

Pick-up and drop-off

For an additional fee, pick-up and drop-off can also take place outside Santiago (within Chile) and/or on weekends and public holidays (see the rates section). No campers are handed over or received on 24, 25 and 31 December or on 1 January.

When pick-up and/or drop-off takes place outside Santiago, the usual location is the airport of the corresponding city or a previously agreed place, generally a hotel.

The vehicle and the camper must be returned clean, inside and out, with a full fuel tank and in the same condition in which they were handed over. If the vehicle or the camper is returned in an unacceptable state of cleanliness, Holiday Rent reserves the right to charge the renter the cleaning costs: 120 € for the Patagonia and Andino campers and 60 € for the Altiplano.

If the established daily kilometre limit is exceeded, each additional kilometre is charged at 0.70 € per km for the campers and 0.40 € per km for the Altiplano. We recommend informing Holiday Rent in advance if you may exceed the established mileage.

Border crossings

With our campers you can travel from Chile to the neighbouring countries Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. To do so, it is compulsory to take out the international insurance through Holiday Rent, at a cost of 13 € per rental day (minimum 195 €, maximum 780 €, regardless of the time actually spent abroad).

To travel to Peru, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, an exit permit for the rented vehicle is also required, at a cost of 189 € per country.

Holiday Rent prepares all the documentation needed to cross the border into the countries included in the booking.

Important: to cross the border into Argentina during the snow season, we strongly recommend renting and carrying snow chains.

Guarantee

The renter must provide a guarantee by means of a pre-authorisation or voucher on their personal credit card, in the name of the holder who signs the rental contract. This guarantee secures payment of the insurance deductible as well as any damage, fines, penalties, infringements, losses and any other amount due under the contract.

The credit card must have an available limit of at least 2,100 € and be valid for at least 3 months after the end date of the rental.

The guarantee is released when the vehicle is returned, provided that no damage, breaches, fines, infringements, losses or other irregularities chargeable to the renter are detected.
