The camper van was a great way to see the beauty of Chile and meet its people. We picked up the van in Puerto Montt. the van took us down the Austral Highway to Lago General Carrera. Puerto Rio Tranquilo / Parque Nacional Laguna San Rafael was our turnaround point. Many, many moments both down and back including: Hornopirén, Volcan Chaitén, Parque Nacional Queulat, Reserva Nacional Cerro Castillo, Coyhaique (we loved this town), the ice sheet in Parque Nacional Laguna San Rafael and Parque Pumalín. We also made a circuit through the Lake District. We climbed Volcan Osorno (and were greeted by bad weather). Finally, we did a circuit around Chiloé.
25 days was not enough. I am looking forward to doing it again.
